Bülow 54. - Lang 38. - Malik Bibl. 59. - Rifkind Coll. 952. - Jentsch 141. - First edition, copy from the edition C. - After this work had been released, Grosz had to face a trial for blasphemy in 1924. - Somewhat stained in places and with traces of damp, 1 plate with mended marginal split. Wrappers soiled and with slight marginal blemishes. Personal copy of Claude McKay, with dedication, autographed and signed byGeorge Grosz for McKay, dated 26.9.(19)23. The Jamaican author Claude McKay described his encounter with George Grosz in Berlin and mentions the "Ecce homo" in his autobiography A long way from home (in the E. A. Jarrett edition from 2007 on p. 240).
