Contains reduced copies after the coppers in the first edition in folio (1776), marked and mostly also engraved by Bertotti's friend and protégé Antonio Mugnoni. - "Focusing on the second book by Palladio on private houses, Bertotti-Scamozzi organizes his analytical presentation of Palladio's buildings in a novel manner, that is, geographically and stylistically ... [His] inventory of Palladio's buildings included thorough archival research and a critical reading of the Palladian literature." (Millard Coll. IV, 258) - The nice coppers with designs of palaces, dwellings, halls, churches, theatres etc. - II: Brit. Arch. Libr. 2381: "This edition is a word-for-word resetting of the folio edition of 1785, with reduced copies of the plates ... published simultaneously in French and Italian ... Copies are also found bound as the fifth volume of Bertotti-Scamozzi ..." - Here and there waterstained, edges foxed, 1 olate defective, 22 plates with scribblings on the rear (12 in ink). Bindings scraped, 1 joint brittle.
