Erste Ausgabe von Perrys Reisebeschreibung des östlichen Mittelmeeres.

Erste Ausgabe. - Der Arzt Charles Perry (1698-1780) bereiste zwischen 1739 und 1742 Frankreich, Italien und den Osten. Er reiste den Nil hinauf nach Assuan und lieferte die ersten Beschreibungen von Behbeit el-Hagar, dem ältesten Kultzentrum der Isis und der Fresken in Beni Hasan. Die meisten Tafeln von G. Bickham illustrieren ägyptische Altertümer und Tempelanlagen.

EINBAND: Moderner roter Halblederband mit Rückenvergoldung und marmorierten Deckelbezügen. 38 : 24 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 19 (7 doppelblattgroßen) Kupfertafeln und 1 gestochenen Karte. - KOLLATION: XVIII S., 4 Bll., 524 (recte 516) S., 2 Bll. - ZUSTAND: Etw. stockfl. und tls. schwach gebräunt, 1 Taf. mit hinterl. Randeinschnitt. Kanten gering berieben. - PROVENIENZ: Flieg. Vorsatz mit altem Besitzeintrag von H. Jones of Battsford, Gloucestershire, dat. 1739. - Exlibris H. & W. Uellner.
